Orange County rockers Lit have completed work on their major label sophomore album. The modern rock band made a big splash with their 1999 RCA debut A Place in the Sun which spawned several hit singles and sold over a million copies.
The new album will be called "Atomic" and is set to hit stores October 9th on Dirty Martini/RCA Records. According to the bands publicist lead vocalist A. Jay Popoff, guitarist Jeremy Popoff, bassist Kevin Baldes and drummer Allen Shellenberger co-produced the CD with veteran producer Don Gilmore (Sugar Ray, Linkin Park). Gilmore also worked on the bands previous album A Place in the Sun.
"Lipstick and Bruises", the first single from the forthcoming album will hit radio next week (August 20). Moviegoers have also received a sneak peak at one of the album's tracks. The song "The Last Time Again" from "Atomic" is featured in American Pie 2 (released Aug 10). The song can be heard during the films end credits.
Lit previewed most of the new songs earlier
this month during a sold out concert at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas
on August 3rd.
