Official Press Release from Sony Music:
AT&T Wireless and ARTISTdirect join forces with Incubus promotion
With Morning View, the anxiously awaited follow-up to the now double-platinum Make Yourself, slated for release on October 23, Incubus have announced plans to begin their first headlining tour in over two years. The concert tour will kick-off on Friday, September 14th in Gilford, NH and will follow on the heels of Incubus sold-out tour of Europe this summer as well as a number of sold-out dates in Australia and New Zealand that are set in August.
Morning View, Incubus third full-length release on Epic/Immortal, was aptly named for the Malibu house, where, for six-months the five bandmates became roommates to write and record this new album. To polish the effort, the band once again enlisted the production skills of Scott Litt who had worked previously with the band on Make Yourself. The Calabasas, CA-bred band has also earned over 650,000 sales combined on their four previous releases, the Enjoy Incubus EP (released Jan 1997), the full-length S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (Sept 1997), the re-issued Fungus Amongus (released Nov 2000) and the EP When Incubus Attacks, Vol. 1 (released Aug 2000).
Wish You Were Here, the first single and video to be released from Morning View, once again pairs the band with video director Phil Harder, who directed both the Stellar and Drive clips. It was announced last week that Drive is nominated for Best Group Video at this years MTV Awardsthe first such nomination for the band.
ARTISTdirect and AT&T Wireless are excited to offer fans an exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with Incubus in 30 of the tours 43 cities. Fans can get a VIP aXess Pack, which consists of two tickets to any of the 30 featured concerts on the tour (travel not included), two VIP passes and an invitation to the bands meet and greet by purchasing a wireless phone and activating on a qualified AT&T Wireless service plan online.
The promotion also includes a contest, offering fans the chance to be treated like a real VIP, including two premiere tickets to the final Incubus show, plane tickets to Los Angeles, hotel accommodations, limo service and an escorted tour backstage along with a private meet and greet with the band.
This is our first headline tour in more than two years, said guitarist Mike Einziger, and we wanted to do it right. That means delivering a great show for our fans at a reasonable ticket price. Thats very important to us, and this association with AT&T Wireless M3 makes it possible. The top ticket price for the tour will be $25.00.
Incubus is Brandon Boyd (vocals/percussion), Mike Einziger (guitar), Dirk Lance (bass), José Pasillas (drums), and Chris Kilmore (turntables).
