The band that was billed as Vic & The Rattleheads turned out to be none other than Megadeth. Dave and Co. made a special appearance at a fundraiser for the TJ Martell Foundation this past Sat. night. The show only cost $5 and was hosted by VH1's Rock Show and KLOS radio.

Great White, Metal Shop (80's hair metal tribute band) and W.A.S.P. also played as well as the metal super group, Steel Dragon which features Zakk Wylde, Jason Bonham, Jeff Pilson and Mark Wahlberg on vocals. Yes this is the band that will be the focus of the movie originally to be titled, Metal God. The live performance scenes for the movie was filmed during this metal fundraiser aptly dubbed '80s Heavy Metal Charity Party. And what a party it was. Fans were asked to dress up in 80's metal gear. C.C. Deville MC'ed the festivities that included a 80's metal costume contest, Playboy Playmates and some of L.A.'s hottest exotic dancers.

The film stars Mark Wahlberg (Three Kings, Boogie Nights) and Jennifer Aniston (Friends). Directed by Stephen Herek ("Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure", "Mr. Holland's Opus"), The movie " ..tells the story of a young musician who becomes the lead singer of his all-time favorite band." Based loosely on the real life story of Tim 'Ripper' Owens from Judas Priest. Owens joined the band after original vocalist Rob Halford left. Judas Priest discovered Owens in his native Ohio where he fronted several metal bands, one being a Judas Priest tribute band. Every metal head dreams of one-day joining their favorite band and Owens achieved it. In Metal God the character played by Mark Wahlberg follows Owens example.
