The Backstreet Boys took the gold with $187 million in sales. Their Millennium album was 1999's biggest seller at 9.3 million units. Concert receipts came to $37.1 million.
Shania Twain chalked up an impressive $119 million in sales. She beat the Backstreet Boys in concert revenue with $40.8 million. Her latest album "Come on Over" landed in forth place for the biggest selling albums of the year with 5.5 million copies sold.
Britney Spears. Here is where album sales come in to play, the teen popster took second place in album sales with 8.2 million copies of her "Baby one more time" being sold. On the road she only took in $6.2 million. All told this 18 year old earned $113 million in 1999.
Ricky Martin came up just shy on $100 million in sales by taking in $99 million in 1999. His debut album "Ricky Martin" was the years third largest selling album with 5.9 million units sold. From the 27 live performances he did last year he earned $23 million bucks.
'N Sync took in $93 million last year. Although they sold the most tickets ( almost 2 million) they grossed only $51 million. Their album "N'sync" sold 3.2 million units.
Limp Bizkit's Significant Other was last years fifth largest selling album at 4.8 million copies sold. On the road they earned a reported $6.5 million ( does not include the Family Values II Tour). In the end Fred Durst and Co. took home $85 million in 1999.

Matthews Band made thier mark last year with their legendary live performances.
In 1999 they took in 48.5 million from their concerts. Combined with album
sales The Dave Matthews Band earned $82 million last year.

Dixie Chicks brought home the country gold with $77 million. In 1999 they
sold 6 million copies of their albums "Fly" and "Wide Open Spaces".
Santana is not only man who stole the Grammy nominations this year, he earned $75 million in '99. He sold 4.5 million copies of his latest album "Supernatural" and took in $16.3 million from touring.
Cher rounds out the list by cashing in with $73 million. Her "Believe" cd sold 2.7 million copies. On the road she took in $37.7 million.
