George Strait Named Texas' State Musician For 2017

Country music icon George Strait is receiving a home state honor as the Texas State Legislature will officially appoint as 2017's State Musician today, May 18th, in Austin, Texas. The general public nominates candidates for the honor, and then recipients are selected from those nominees by the Texas Commission on the Arts through several committee processes. Fans can see Strait live during his 2 Nights of Number 1's live shows at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena:
