Singled Out: A Story Told's Weather
. ![]() West Virginian alternative pop band A Story Told's Alex Chaney tells us about the song "Weather" from their latest full length studio album "Keep Watch". Here is the story: "Weather was actually the last song that we finished for our debut album Keep Watch. We wrote the initial idea very early on in the recording process as a full band arrangement, but ended up scrapping this version midway through with no plans of it ever seeing the light of day. While wrapping up the record, we knew a slow ballad was missing from the track listing. We ended up revisiting the initial full band demo and stripping it down completely to piano to arrive to the version that you hear today. We had the idea of including a female vocalist on a track to give the album a little more depth and diversity. Luckily we know some insanely talented people, so the female vocalist is actually a friend from our hometown. Weather was the perfect opportunity to showcase this talent and we actually ended up rewriting a lot of the song to be more of a duet as opposed to having a female feature. I think the simplicity and vulnerability of the track is what makes Weather so special. The subject matter of exploring the "what ifs" of a relationship is something that allows the track to be much bigger than the music itself." Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
