Video From Green Day's Club Tour Kick Off Goes Online
.
(hennemusic) Green Day opened the Revolution Radio North American club tour at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH on September 26 and video from the show has surfaced online. "Green Day has long combined the sneering three-chord energy of foundational punk with Saturday-morning-cartoon accessibility," writes Brad Keefe of Columbus Alive. "In a word, its live show was fun. The musicians burst out of the starting gate with a joy and energy that lasted through a 25-song set that pushed two hours. The setlist dove deep into the band's biggest albums, including 1994's 'Dookie' and 2004's 'American Idiot', but wove in tracks from throughout its catalog." The Columbus show became opening night of the Bay Area band's rare club tour after the band postponed the first three dates due to an illness "affecting several members of the band and its crew." Originally scheduled to open in St. Louis, MO on September 20, the group also postponed stops in Chicago, IL (Sep. 21) and Detroit, MI (Sep 24), while a Toronto, ON appearance at the World Cup Of Hockey Fan Village on September 23 was canceled.
