Lil Wayne Rules Out Being Close To Birdman Again
. ![]() (Radio.com) It's no secret that Lil Wayne and Birdman have been on the outs, but in a new interview Lil Wayne revealed just how bad things have become between the two. Speaking with HipHollywood about his new book Gone 'Til November: A Journal of Rikers Island, Lil Wayne discussed his strained relationship with Birdman. "I'm 34, baby, I'm too old for friends," he said about the possibility of ever being close with the producer again. "No, his last name isn't Carter, baby. He's not family." The comments are all the more revealing considering that Lil Wayne and Birdman have shared the kind of close mentor/mentee relationship that felt more like family than business. He's been signed to Birdman's Cash Money Records ever since he released Tha Block is Hot in 1999, and the pair even released the 2006 album Like Father, Like Son with Lil Wayne rapping on the track "Stuntin' Like My Daddy."
