Soundgarden, Radiohead, The Cure Among 'Westworld' Instrumentals
. ![]() (Radio.com) HBO viewers have been mesmerized by the dark fantasy universe of Westworld, and the spare "player piano" arrangements of pop and rock songs play a major hand in setting the mood. The simple, ominous tracks include covers of The Cure, Radiohead and others that composer Ramin Djawadi created for the show. Full versions of those instrumental covers are now available to stream. The Stones' "Paint it Black," Radiohead's "No Surprises," Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" and the Cure's "A Forest." Even the artists themselves have reviewed these reinterpretations favorably. "I loved Ramin Djawadi's interpretation of 'Black Hole Sun,'" said Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell. "It perfectly fits the mood of the scene, and reveals a duality that has always existed in the song." Listen to Djawadi's versions here.
