. ![]() (Gibson) The Cure are headed Down Under! Earlier this month, organizers of Australia's massive Splendour In The Grass festival announced veteran British pop-rock act The Cure as one of the headliners of this year's edition (alongside American indie rockers The Strokes, a reunited The Avalanches and Icelandic post-rockers Sigur Rs). The 'Friday I'm In Love' legends have now announced two additional shows - in Melbourne and Sydney - after their Splendour In The Grass appearance. They've also promised details of two more shows - in Adelaide and Perth - soon. They play Splendour In The Grass on July 24, followed by Sydney on July 25 and Melbourne on July 28. A press release said, "the band will explore 37 years of Cure songs, mixing hits, rarities, favorites and as yet unreleased tracks in a brand new stage production". In addition to the Australian shows, The Cure will kick off their tour Down Under with a date in Auckland, New Zealand on 21 July. Read more here.
