Unreleased Prince Music Used In Versace Fashion Show
.
(Radio.com) Following the death of Prince, reports abounded about the sheer volume of unreleased songs his Paisley Park vault contained. We knew it was just a matter of time before some of that never-before-heard material reached the public, but with the contents of the vault still unrevealed, the first few notes of new Prince have been revealed, courtesy of his good friend Donatella Versace. The Italian fashion designer incorporated some of Prince's unreleased instrumental recordings (which he shared with her as gifts) in her menswear presentation at Milan Fashion Week. "Prince was always writing and recording, even if it was just a late-night jam at Paisley Park," Versace told Billboard. "He had been sending me songs for years - it was his way of communicating. Just hearing his voice again makes me smile." She said the creative decision was her way of paying tribute to Prince. "It was a privilege and an honor to have Prince as my friend, and so it was my privilege to be able to share them with the audience," Versace said of the unnamed material. "I wanted people to hear how playful he was, how joyous, how creative, how pure a genius. The biggest tribute you can pay to him is to play his music, and to keep his memory alive." Listen for some of Prince's previously unheard music here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com. |
