Metallica Perform National Anthem At NHL Stanley Cup Final
. ![]() (Radio.com) Metallica guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett delivered the national anthem prior to game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals between the San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins at the SAP Center in San Jose, CA on Monday. Drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Robert Trujillo were on hand to open the dressing room doors for the Sharks as they hit the ice to the team's standard introduction - Metallica's 1983 classic "Seek And Destroy." Hetfield and Hammett have donated their guitars from the Stanley Cup Final performance to be auctioned off to benefit The Sharks Foundation, which is dedicated to enhancing the lives of underserved youth and families in the community with an emphasis in the areas of education, health and safety, and character development. The Foundation supplies emergency aid when appropriate, executes unique and relevant programming, supports the advancement of youth hockey, and provides financial support and resources to organizations that enrich the lives of those in need.
