Singled Out: Sarah Miles' Addictive
. ![]() Singer/songwriter Sarah Miles just released a new single called "Addictive" and to celebrate we asked her to tell us the story behind the song. Here is the story: "I actually wrote the first version of "Addictive" a few years ago, and then recently re-visited it, when I started working with Nashville producer, Chris Gelbuda (Meghan Trainor). Chris liked the song, but we ended up re-working it by changing the structure a bit, editing lyrics and adding some new melodies. My bridge turned into a new chorus! The song is about a one sided love, where one person in the relationship is essentially addicted to a person that doesn't love them back. The relationship is not healthy but, they still go back for more. Unfortunately, a scenario that many people find themselves in. Love can be a drug, good or bad, but in this case, bad. I've had my heart broken enough times to know the pain of this type of relationship and the emotion comes rushing back when I sing it. It was an amazing experience working with Chris. He is a true talent and an inspiration to me. We have been working on some new songs recently which I cannot wait to share with everyone. Stay tuned! Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself right here!
