Yes Star Alan White Sitting Out Tour Due To Surgery
. ![]() (Radio.com) Yes have announced that drummer Alan White will be forced to sit out at least a portion of the band's upcoming tour as a result of undergoing back surgery. The 67-year-old penned a letter to explain to fans that he had no choice but to have the surgery and hopes that with "some rest and physical therapy" that he will be able to "rejoin the Summer tour in the near future." White posted a lengthy message on Yes' official twitter account on Monday explaining that he had dealt with "intense back pain which began halfway through Yes' spring European tour." He added, "I've had no choice but to undergo surgery to repair an injured disc in my lower back. I'm pleased to announce a very positive result from this procedure, which took place in Seattle." Jay Schellen, known for his work in Hurricane and Asia, will fill in for White when Yes kicks off their The Album Series: Drama + Topographic 1 & 4 tour. Read more including White's entire note here.
