Lynyrd Skynyrd Tour Halted By Health Scare
.
Lynyrd Skynyrd were forced to cancel tonight's show in Lewiston, N.Y. as founding member Gary Rossington is under medical care after experiencing chest pains. The guitarist had suffered a heart attack last October and underwent quintuple bypass surgery back in 2003. The upcoming dates on the tour are still up in the air depending on Rossington's condition and the advice they received from his doctor. The band released the following statement on their official site on Monday (July 18th): "Lynyrd Skynyrd's performance at Artpark in Lewiston, NY on July 19th has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule the show in the near future. "Founding member and guitar player, Gary Rossington, is seeking doctor's evaluation in Atlanta after experiencing some chest pains. Lynyrd Skynyrd will resume their tour once Gary is cleared by medical professionals. We will advise as soon as we have additional information."
