Trace Adkins Talks New Movie With Mark Wahlberg
.
(Radio.com) Trace Adkins fans are eagerly awaiting his next album, which is expected to come out later this summer. But they should also be on the lookout for his role in the upcoming Mark Wahlberg film, Deepwater Horizon, which is based on the disastrous 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Atkins has a brief role in the film, he tells Radio.com, but it's a memorable one. At first, however, he wasn't sure he wanted to sign on for the film. "They called me to come do this movie," he says. "I was up in the Northwest, we were on tour somewhere, and my agent called. She's like, 'There's a little part in this movie that they want you to come and do. It would just require you to be there for one day. You can fly to New Orleans and do it for one day.'" "So I said, 'I really don't want to fly down to New Orleans to do just one scene in a movie.' So she says, 'Well, you get to throw a guy around the lobby of a hotel.' I said, 'That sounds like fun, but still'' And she says, 'It's [Mark] Wahlberg that you throw around.'" "'OK, I'll go.'" As a plus, he got to chat with one of Wahlberg's famous co-stars: "It was a fun day, I got to meet Kurt Russell, [but I] didn't do any scenes with him." Read more here.
