Andrew Lloyd Webber Says That He 'Discovered' Rihanna
. ![]() (Radio.com) Twelve years ago, musical theater composer Andrew Lloyd Webber was traveling through Barbados with his longtime record producer, Nigel Wright. The pair ducked into a karaoke bar and noticed a girl whose talent and presence blew her peers away--one Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Webber recounted the experience to the U.K.'s Good Morning Britain, and said that he and Wright agonized over whether to invite Rihanna back to England with them, so they could make her a star. 'I said to Nigel, 'If we bring her back, you know it's like when you see a picture when you're away and you take it home and you think, why did I buy that?'" said Webber in a rather cringeworthy analogy.
