Mark Ronson Releases Dan Auerbach and Action Bronson Collaboration.
. ![]() (Radio.com) Suicide Squad opens in theaters this Friday (August 5), but fans got another taste of the movie's soundtrack Tuesday (August 2) when producer Mark Ronson premiered his collaboration with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) and Action Bronson, "Standing in the Rain." Auerbach's trademark bluesy vocals lead off the song, "I saw you standing in the rain/ You were holding his hand/ And I'd never be the same," Auerbach sings before Action Bronson comes in hot with a slick verse. Altogether, it's a little bit blues-rock mixed with pop and hip-hop. Speaking about the track, Ronson said told Beats 1's Zane Lowe, "Bronson's verse is insane on it, I love it. It never had a home. We didn't finish it in time for Bronson's record, it wasn't right for mine, and then they heard it for the movie Suicide Squad. They dug it and they put it in this great scene with Will Smith and his character," Ronson explained. He hasn't seen the film yet, though. Like the rest of the world, he has to wait. Suicide Squad's soundtrack promises listeners lots of big tracks. Skrillex and Rick Ross debuted their contribution "Purple Lamborghini" off that album last week.
