Prince's 'Purple Rain' Expanding To Over 200 Theaters

(Radio.com) The music world is still in mourning following the devastating news of Prince's untimely death, less than one week ago. Fans, and artists alike, are having a hard time dealing with the loss of the iconic and unique artist, which manifests into the endless tributes to the legend.

One such tribute took place in cinemas last weekend when Warner Bros. and AMC Theaters teamed up to show Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain. Due to the overwhelming success of the showings, the film will be expanding into over 200 theaters across the country on Friday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Purple Rain will play in 212 AMC theaters, more than doubling the amount of houses that showed the film as a tribute to Prince last week. Read more here.
