Slipknot's Jim Root Previews The Sound And The Story DVD

(TeamRock Radio) Slipknot guitarist Jim Root offers fans a track-by-track insight into latest album .5: The Gray Chapter in a DVD to be released this week. Jim Root: The Sound And The Story - .5: The Gray Chapter is released on April 8 and it's available for pre-order on DVD and as a download.

It's the latest installment of Fret12's The Sound And The Story series, which features Root breaking down his playing, while also taking viewers behind the scenes in the studio and on tour.

In the trailer, he recalls how he tried to channel late bassist Paul Gray as he worked on the album, saying: "If it weren't for the memory of Paul and Paul's mentality, I wouldn't have been able to write the way I wrote." Watch the video here.
