The rapper turned food show host posted a photo of himself in the hospital bed and seemed like he was in good spirits. Bronson captioned the picture, "Well, this Alaska trip turned into me having emergency surgery."

The posts leading up to the hospital photo showed an array of different dishes the Vice Records artist sampled. He tasted raw and cooked whale, baked whitefish with rendered sea oil, and caribou stew.

Some fans reacted negatively to Action Bronson trying the exotic foods and he called them out on Twitter. Bronson wrote, "Don't ever knock someone else's heritage and what they eat just because it's not familiar to you. Native people live off the land, try it."
