CeeLo Green Releases New Track 'Mother May I'

(Radio.com) The Grammy Award-winning CeeLo Green has released a new track, "Mother May I," off his upcoming album Heart Blanche. The Mark Ronson-produced song features Green's trademark slick vocals against a slow, steady beat that builds into a funky bridge.

In the song, Green asks his mother for permission to be himself: "I need your, your blessing/ Because your baby was born to be out of control/ It will help me make it home safely/ But I'm still not sure if I want to live to be old."

A gospel-like chorus backs him up, further feeding into the song's handclap-inducing church rhythm. The new album, Heart Blanche, will be released on November 6th. Check out the new song here.
