Duran Duran Singer Gives His Take On Sam Smith's Bond Theme

(Radio.com) Duran Duran's frontman Simon Le Bon has shared his view of their James Bond theme vs. the new one from Sam Smith. Since releasing his theme "Writing's on the Wall" for the upcoming Bond film, Spectre, Sam Smith hasn't exactly earned the approval of his peers. It's not that people are overly critical of the theme, but they're not overwhelmed by it either.

Le Bon recently spoke to Gigwise about Smith's recently released theme for the long running film franchise. "I caught a little bit of [Smith's song]," he said, "it's not my favourite-I prefer ours."

Duran Duran recorded the theme song for the 1985 Bond film, A View To A Kill. Le Bon was quick to add that just because he wasn't overly fond of Smith's theme doesn't mean he's not a fan of the artist. "But he's Sam Smith, he's got a beautiful voice and I'm a big fan of him. I support him and what he stands for," he said. Read more here.
