Carly Rae Jepsen And Jessie J Cast In 'Grease Live'

. (Radio.com) Carly Rae Jepsen landed the iconic role of "Frenchy" in Fox's upcoming live broadcast of Grease. The pop star will join the cast featuring Julianne Hough, Vanessa Hudgens, Carlos Penavega and Keke Palmer.

Jepsen took to Twitter today to make the announcement. She wrote: "'Tell me more, tell me more!' I'll be joining the cast of #GreaseLive as Frenchy! Don't miss it Jan 2016 @FOXTV!"

Jessie J will kick off the live television broadcast with a performance of the 1978 film's opening-title song "Grease (Is the Word)." She confirmed the news on Instagram.

In the updated version of the original film, which starred John Travota and Olivia Newton-John, Aaron Tveitas will play the role of "Danny," and Julianne Hough will step into the shoes of "Sandy." Jepsen will take of the role of everyone's favorite beauty school dropout "Frenchy." Read more here.
