Kanye West Still Doesn't Impress Brandon Flowers

(Radio.com) Kanye West has been on a campaign to become a populist favorite again after his divisive Yeezus--his most recent attempts being the lullaby "Only One" and the folksy strummer "FourFiveSeconds" with Paul McCartney and Rihanna--but, for Brandon Flowers, there's not enough criticism being thrown West's way.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the Killers frontman was candid about his thoughts on the rapper when asked about that time he said Kanye "makes me ill" back in 2006.

It's been nearly a decade and Flowers' position hasn't changed too much. In his mind, West is coasting without the necessary checks and balances. "Everyone's afraid to say anything contrary to him being a genius," said Flowers. "It's crazy, man! And it's frustrating.

"I'm not going to tear him down, but I will say I find that to be frustrating. [Laughs] That's my stance on it. A lot of people might agree with me now. I may have been a little bit ahead of my time. But I think he wants to be good. I think he wants to be great, and that's something that we all want to strive for. We've just got different roads of getting there, I guess." Read more here.
