Gary Clark Jr. Reunites With Friend That Inspired Him
. (The Blues) Gary Clark Jr. has appeared in a documentary where he meets up with the friend who got him into blues music. The guitarist last year hailed Eve Monsees, the childhood companion who took him to his first-ever concert. Speaking while accepting his Grammy award for Best Traditional R&B Performance, Clark said: "I wouldn't be playing guitar, I wouldn't be playing music, if it weren't for her." The Rolling Stone video includes a clip of Clark and Monsees, both in their teens, performing Stevie Ray Vaughan's Pride And Joy at a talent show they went on to win. Watch it here.
