Singled Out: Virgin Steele's Glamour
. The Song "Glamour" from our new album Nocturnes Of Hellfire & Damnation upon first glance appears to be about a woman, a relationship I have, and yes on one level it most certainly is. But it is also about my long-term love affair and addiction or obsession with my Mistress Music. The song concerns itself with the plundering of the mind, the body and the spirit through intense ongoing passionyes there is a real human being behind lines like: Hell walks with flair But again I am also speaking about what Music has done to me, and for methe good, the bad, and the ugly. Lines like: Make the connection and case for that. "Glamour" wanders freely back and forth between the passions of an actual relationship or romance and my addictionsorobsessionsand musically the big ponderous riffs and the fast maniacal riffs work in tandem to convey the mood shifts of ecstatic frenzy to mournful despair, and wild attraction to repulsion. Ultimately leading tothe line "Nevermore Will I SleepNevermore Awaken" Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
