Holmes Brothers' Wendell Holmes Under Hospice Care
. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer In 2008 but received the all-clear after treatment and rejoined bassist brother Sherman and drummer Popsy Dixon in The Holmes Brothers. Their most recent album was 2014's Brotherhood. Dixon died In January. Wendell, 72, retired in April after being diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. He says in a message to fans: "I'm grateful for the opportunity to say 'thanks' to many friends for your many expressions of love to me and my wife Barbara." Read more here.
