Shawn Mendes To Make Acting Debut On 'The 100' Season Premiere

. (Radio.com) Shawn Mendes will be a guest star on season premiere of The CW's post-apocalyptic drama The 100. It will mark the sixteen year old singer/songwriter's acting debut.

"I'm so excited to take a step into acting," says Mendes. 'It's something I've wanted to do for a long time, and can't wait for everyone to see my first role in 'The 100'."

Perhaps Shawn has gotten some acting advice from Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld. The two released an acoustic version of Shawn's track "Stitches" just yesterday. Mendes can return the favor as Steinfeld is gearing up for the release of her first single 'Love Myself" which will be released August 7. Read more here.
