Dr. Dre Releasing Surprise Album This Week?

. (Radio.com) It's been 14 years since rumors of Dr. Dre's Detox began swirling--and there's still no release date in sight. But the next best thing is apparently on the way: a new album by the iconic producer, inspired by the upcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton.

According to Ice Cube, Dr. Dre will be dropping this unexpected release August 1. "Dre is dropping an album inspired by the Compton movie," Ice Cube said in a recent interview (via Billboard).

"He's dropping something on August 1�It's mega, it's Dr. Dre, it's what everybody's been waiting for. It's definitely a dope record, and he's dropping it all on the same day." Read more here.
