Miley Cyrus Will Host This Year's MTV Video Music Awards

. (Radio.com) Miley Cyrus is hosting the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. The often scantily clad pop star and former child actresss took to Instagram to post the announcement.

Wearing a green, full body suit, complete with alien mask, Cyrus adorned two signs around her neck reading, "MTV won't let me perform" on one and "So I'm hosting this year's VMAs" on the other.

The announcement of her hosting gig came as MTV revealed the date, time and location for the annual telecast. The awards show will air live from L.A.'s Microsoft Theater at 9 p.m. ET, on Sunday, August 30. According to the network, nominations will be announced Tuesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. ET, and voting begins at 11 a.m. at mtv.com. Read more and see Miley's Instagram post here.
