Heart Celebrate 30th Anniversary Of Heart Album In The Studio
. Heart's enduring career has no doubt been because of the resilient musical leadership of both singer/ songwriter Ann and guitarist/ singer Nancy Wilson, although it did not always appear that way. The "blood is thicker than water" cliche had proven to be true several times throughout their career, but perhaps never more than during the early 1980s. Ann and Nancy share with InTheStudio host Redbeard what led them to take the reins and ultimately to reinvent Heart. "By 1981 we were already leading the band. We just came out and did it... The band was in a lot of turmoil, and we were the only ones who could be unified enough to lead the band." - Ann Wilson "Right before the self-titled Heart album, we were without a record company and we were changing management... In the MTV era that we were in then, we put on the costumes and it was fun! Got out the flashpots, got the record company, got the budget, got the videos going and made sort of like a comeback, at a time when Heart's career was really flagging... We really lucked into some great people who helped us reinvent." - Nancy Wilson That reinvention yielded hit after hit including "What About Love?", "Never", "Nothing at All", "If Looks Could Kill" and Heart's first # 1 single "These Dreams".
