Dierks Bentley Reveals Football Favorites
. (Radio.com) When it comes to football, Phoenix, Ariz. native Dierks Bentley is a dyed-in-the-wool homer. "My favorite team is the Arizona Cardinals. They came to town in 1987. I still remember going to the very first game. I think it was against the Dallas Cowboys," he recalls during a recent Radio.com interview. "I've watched them over the years, good years, bad years. They actually had one of their best years this year, which was pretty awesome for me and a lot of fans out there that have been pulling for them for a long time." Bentley is such a hometown champion that his favorite Super Bowl of all-time occurred right in his backyard back in 2008, when the New York Giants spoiled the New England Patriots' potentially perfect season at Super Bowl XLII, held in the University of Phoenix Stadium (which just so happens to be the site of this year's Super Bowl). 'The best Super Bowl I ever saw was actually in Phoenix. The Patriots were playing the Giants, and Peyton Manning was in the box next to us," Bentley remembers. "He was there watching his brother Eli (Manning) play. It was just an amazing Super Bowl, there were some awesome catches. It was really, really fun."
