New 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Trailer Released
. (Radio.com) "This vulnerable world needs something more powerful than any of us," we hear Tony Stark (played, of course, by Robert Downey Jr.) saying, at the beginning of the newly released trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. What did they say the road to hell is paved with again? "Everyone creates the thing they dread," counters the voice of James Spader. Now, Spader's voice may invoke many feelings in you, given some of the roles he's played over the decades (including Graham Dalton from Sex, Lies and Videotape, Mr. Grey from Secretary, and, more recently, Raymond Reddington on Blacklist). But in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spader is the voice of Ultron, the "big bad" from this installment of the super team's film franchise. In the comic book universe, Ultron was created by Hank Pym (who, in the Marvel cinematic universe, is about to debut in July's Ant-Man). But in the film, Ultron's creator is Tony Stark, according to Entertainment Weekly. In the trailer, we see Ultron, who looks like one of the many suits of armor that Stark detonated in Iron Man 3 (and the less we say about that particular film, the better) and his minions attacking the Avengers and creating all sorts of chaos. And then, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), still alive after the events of Captain America: Winter Soldier, adds, "No matter who wins or loses, trouble still comes around." After a brief tender scene between the Hulk and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) we hear Ultron again: "I'm gonna tear you apart from the inside." Apparently, that's the low-hanging fruit when you're taking on the Avengers: Loki caused some pretty intense in-fighting in the last film, and in this trailer, we see Thor lifting Stark up by his neck, and Stark in Hulkbuster armor taking on his teammate, the green goliath. We also get a brief glimpse of Scarlet Witch (played by Elizabeth Olson) tossing Iron Man (or at least one of his automated suits of armor). And someone is disrobing at about 30 seconds in, which will surely set off tons of fan speculation. Perhaps it's Jocasta, the bride of Ultron (who, in the comics, later left her creator/husband and joined the Avengers). Watch the trailer here.
