Erykah Badu Turns Airport Stranding Into Media Opportunity
. (Radio.com) Flight cancellations and bad weather affect everyone, even musicians. During a recent CBS news broadcast live from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, anchor Steve Pickett was on hand to report flight cancellations and delays throughout the area due to bad weather. Helping him out with co-anchor duties was GRAMMY award-winning musician Erykah Badu to report some school delays. "It's hard out here for a pimp, you know," she joked. In good spirits, she added: "A lot of schools are closed. I'm trying to get to Los Angeles. I just need to wait a little longer." One of the more patient passengers, she added much color to the news coverage with her Pharrell-like hat, a "Hey mom!" shout-out on camera with a big smile. Watch it here.
