Van Morrison Releasing Duets Album
. (Radio.com) While younger listeners can connect to Van Morrison through recent shout-outs from Catfish and the Bottlemen, long-time fans don't need a reminder of the storied career of Morrison. The Irish icon has now announced his 35th career album, set for release on March 24 from RCA Records. With Duets: Re-Working the Catalogue, the concept of the new Morrison album is exactly as it sounds: old songs, re-imagined as duets. And, with any high profile collaborative project like this, both the song choices and the duet partners are of note. In regards to the former, we aren't getting many of the best known Morrison songs, but, rather, cuts from his career that might be new seeming to many listeners. As for the latter, Mavis Staples, the late Bobby Womack, Joss Stone, Natalie Cole, and Michael Buble are among the singing partners that will appear on the effort. Check out a tracklist here.
