Selena Gomez Not Ashamed Of Her Purity Ring Past

. (Radio.com) Over the past couple of years, Selena Gomez has been focusing hard on her career as she attempts to shed her image as a former Disney starlet. But that's likely a hard thing to accomplish when others are constantly bringing up her teenage years.

While recently speaking with the Sunday Times, the 23-year-old "Good For You" singer addressed a few topics that seem to constantly come up in her interviews, including her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber and the purity ring she once wore.

However, she also made it clear that she's more than happy to leave the past behind. "I'm not embarrassed to say [I wore the ring]," she said. "I'm also not embarrassed to say that the ring has come off. I got it when I was 13 and I respect so much what it represented, but it isn't for everyone."
