Estelle Releases Something Good
. In a similar vein, her latest release "Something Good" starts off with breezy piano-house production; like Mary J. Blige, who recently collaborated with Disclosure, Estelle has her eyes fixed on the modern electronic scene. The upbeat chords herald Estelle as a modern reincarnation of a classic '90s house diva. Then, around the four-minute mark, the song changes - out with the sunshine-y horns and in with darkness. The beat morphs into a slinky piece of contemporary bass music, complete with muffled kicks and moody synth warbles. The track ebbs and flows, eventually building to a minor-key, downbeat crescendo. It's a complete 180 from peak-time dance floor fare to something more befitting a smoke-filled after hours scenario. Estelle contains multitudes. Listen here.
