The Kinks Box Set Includes 25 Previously Unreleased Tracks
. The Kinks will release another career-spanning set - The Anthology 1964-1971 - on Nov. 18 via BMG/InGrooves. It's a five-CD, 100-plus-song retrospective billed as the "most extensive" Kinks release of its kind, ever. While the 51st anniversary of the band is less special in most traditional metrics, one key celebratory ingredient may only be available during next year's 51st Kinks birthday: a Kinks reunion. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Dave Davies said told the magazine, "It would be a shame if Ray [Davies] and I didn't do something next year. I'm prepared to talk. If Ray's got some great ideas, let me hear them. I have my own ideas about how it should be presented. But I don't want it to be a Ray Davies show where he lets his little brother stand in the corner, which he likes to do. It has to be done properly and respectfully. We have so much great music that goes back so many years. We both want to do something next year." That would certainly fit with Davies' post to his Facebook late last month, noting that he'd "love to do some form of a Kinks reunion with Ray." Time will tell if the Kinks reunion actually happens, but for now, check out the extensive tracklist for The Anthology 1964-1971, which includes 25 previously unreleased tracks here.
