Train Discuss New Album
. In an interview with New York's Fresh 102.7 (a CBS Radio station), Monahan and bandmate Jimmy Stafford opened up about the 12-track release and the album's lead single "Angel In Blue Jeans." "Subconsciously, everything romantic that I write lyrically would be about my wife since she is such a lovely part of my life," Monahan said. This can be seen on the band's latest release and especially on new single "Angel In Blue Jeans." While last year, Monahan told Radio.com admitted the song title sounds a bit country, it's not a country song. "The song is literally about dreaming about trying to find that woman that did a magical thing to you and then you wake up from the dream at the end and you're laying next to her. And then you can relax," Monahan explained. The video for the song, however, takes a drastic turn. It premiered on VEVO in July and features actors Danny Trejo (Desperado, Heat, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad) and Hannah Simone (New Girl). They portray people living in a Wild West-like world who start a gun fight with the band. Having released six previous albums, Stafford told Fresh 102.7 that this album takes the cake. "The 11 other singles on the record are all unique," he asserted. "In my opinion, this is our best collection of songs that we've ever put on one record. It's really great writing, really great melody. Overall, I think it's our best work." Read more here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
