16 Hospitalized Following Skrillex Concert

(Radio.com) More than a dozen Skrillex fans were hospitalized following a Chicago performance by the L.A.-based DJ at Navy Pier last Saturday. NBC reports that the majority of those hospitalized were for apparent drug overdoses, with 16 being transported from the concert to a local hospital over the course of the evening.

According to Chicago policy, anyone who presents potential medical problems is transported to the hospital, an official of the concert promoter said.

"The policy in Chicago has been to take anyone who presents to the hospital," Andrew Bazos, who oversees medical support for SFX, the concert's promoter, said to NBC. "We're there for people who haven't been smart, and safety is number one."

Bazos cited the increasingly younger age demographic present at EDM shows as part of the health safety problem. Read more here.
