Singled Out: The Grayces' 'Lord and Gods of Alcohol
. Being a drinker and living in a drinking town the observations that led to the creation of this song came pretty naturally. It was only a matter of time. Oh yes, I have been a member of the debauchery that is Nashville's nightlife. Where as, the partying life style of the rock and the roll can be stuffed with grand memories, prideful accomplishments and inspirations it is also accompanied by some of the most tragic stories a human being can handle. It is easy to lose your direction and become lost in a never-ending monotony of a certain lifestyle taking over the residence of where the soul of your art once lived separating you from what really matters. "Lord and Gods of Alcohol" is about getting caught up in an endless pattern of a superficial lifestyle and the call to arms to break the pattern and fight for the forward moving evolution of your life's path until your dying breath. We stood in a circle, as people in a conversation often do, and proceeded to beat box the first birth of the song in the style of a cappella. Yep, that happened. The old film clips represented in the video are from old public domain archives of some footage that Thomas Edison shot back in the day. We had a lot of fun creating the video and hope to do more in the future. Check it out! Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the video here and learn more about the album right here!
