Ghostface Killah Explains 36 Seasons Meaning On New Track

(Radio.com) Ghostface Killah has been on a warpath recently, dropping several singles in advance of the release of his upcoming 36 Seasons. Last week he released an album sampler with snippets of all 14 tracks and "Love Don't Live Here No More." Now he's released a new song, "Battlefield."

Ghostface rides in on a guitar-sampling instrumental with a soulful hook from Tre Williams. The song provides an explanation for the album's title: the length of Ghost's leave of absence.

"'Ey yo, I'm back after nine years, that's 36 seasons/ s**t is changed up for all types of reasons," he raps, almost wistful. "Staten Island ain't the same, s**t is lame, no familiar faces, son/ I'm dodging the game." Listen here.
