Mendes announces himself with his latest music video in support of the single "Something Big," which was released late last week. The something big seems to be Mendes himself, who is at the center of an impromptu neighborhood parade, the soul of a party on a football field, and still manages to showcase his accomplishments as a guitar player and dancer.

If this video accomplishes nothing else, the viewer leaves knowing he can do it all - or at least quite a lot more than stand around and sing. Mendes as the "something big" isn't hyperbole - anticipation for his video is so great that it is currently a trending topic on Twitter for the U.S., bested only by #HappyVeteransDay and outperforming a hash tag about Harry Styles of One Direction's hair. That is, in fact, something big.
