Our debut single, Eyes Wide Shut is about specific people and events from our pasts but we would rather our fans come up with their own interpretation of the lyrics so they can connect with them in their own way. It's as much their story as it is ours, and we want them to move past those issues just as we did when we wrote it.

As a more general summary though, the song is really about forcing yourself to see what's right in front of you, what's been staring you in the face all this time, something you've perhaps been choosing to ignore rather than deal with.

Sometimes shutting down is temporarily easier on our psyche but ultimately it's only putting a band-aid on a festering wound. We've all experienced something like this in our lives. No matter what the topic is. That's basically where the line "I'm staring with my eyes closed" came from.

You see it happening but you're choosing not to react, hoping you will wake up from it like it was a bad dream. But you really have to know your self-worth, that's ultimately what the song is about if we had to break it down to one sentence.

Know your self-worth and value yourself enough to realize that certain people or situations are not bringing out the best in you. The most important decisions are not always the easiest ones to make and sometimes it takes introspection and mentally stepping out of the situation to see that something's gotta give.

So then towards the end of the song, it's about snapping yourself out of a trance, realizing you are in a situation that isn't healthy and closing that chapter of your life and never looking back.

The words might seem simple but they are definitely deep and heartfelt. We tried our best to capture the emotion we were feeling at the time. We don't really delve into relationship drama much to be honest, and ironically enough this is the only song on the album that touches on the topic.
