Smash Mouth Meets 'Shawshank Redemption' In Mashup Video
. Bobby Hacker, director of the Cars series on comedy website Funny or Die, created a new video that shows just what might occur when late-'90s ubiquitous rock standard "All Star" is played for a crowd of prisoners. In the original clip from the 1994 film, the character of Andy Dufresne plays opera for the prisoners over a prison loudspeaker and sits in a chair, legs crossed, smugly content with his decision as many look around incredulously. Now? Well, little has changed visually; it's the audio that sells it. Hacker's new video splices Smash Mouth's biggest hit in where the opera piece would have been, even messing around with the quality and levels of the audio to make its integration into the video seem more organic, like it was there to begin with.
