Kanye West For Mayor?
. In an open letter on the site, Shepard invites West to run for mayor, saying, "Doing this would require fixing some big problems. There are four main ones: the schools are awful, the public transportation system is subpar, it isn't a democracy, there are too many shootings." He goes on to outline what he feels West could do to resolve these issues, including modeling our education system after Finland's, which he feels has a similar ethnographic make up to Chicago; creating a low-cost, cooperatively-run system of public transportation; decriminalizing drugs to help stop Chicago violence; and turning "control over police, licensing and local judicial matters to neighborhood councils." Shepard outlines that West is his choice because West is a citizen of Chicago and "because the arguments would be realer, more interesting, and more political than they are now." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
