GWAR-Themed Restaurant Opening This Summer

. (Radio.com) One of the dreams of fallen GWAR frontman Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus), according to his bandmates, involved opening a GWAR-themed restaurant. Now, months after his death, Brockie posthumously realizes that dream.

According to a release, the band will open their own restaurant and bar that features menu items designed by band member BalSac himself. GWARbar, based in Richmond, Va., will open this summer.

BalSac, the band's guitarist and creator of the group's GWAR-B-Q Sauce, invented the menu. "My mother taught me the endless secrets of intergalactic cooking," he said in a statement. "And then I ate her."

GWARbar will move into a location previously operated by another entrepreneur. The band is raising funds via Indiegogo to help renovate the space. The $50,000 goal includes various tiers of prizes for donations, including $1,000 that gets one a barstool at the restaurant with one's name engraved on it. more on this story
