'We're All 4 the Hall' Benefit Raises $600K
. The show was hosted by Keith Urban and Vince Gill, and at the end of the show, Urban took the stage to announce that, while final numbers were still being tallied, the show had already raised more than $600,000. The show was an all-star event featuring such artists as Kacey Musgraves, Brantley Gilbert, Ronnie Milsap (who's one of this year's Hall of Fame inductees), Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood. The theme of the show was "Songtellers," which as Urban recently told Radio.com was designed to showcase songwriters as well as artists who don't always write their own material yet still feel deeply about the material they've chosen. "I thought it'll be a cool, intimate evening on a large scale for people to learn something about songs they love," Urban said. According to a review in the Nashville Tennessean, the show featured 29 songs, including current radio singles (Urban performed "Cop Car," Gilbert performed "Bottoms Up"), past hits (Deana Carter performed "Strawberry Wine" and "You & Tequila," both songs she wrote) and a healthy helping of classic covers. The latter category included David Nail singing the Glen Campbell hit "Galveston" and both Underwood (who was dressed in some amazing red-and-black, flower-print pants, by the way) and Musgraves performing Dolly Parton songs ("I Will Always Love You" and "Here You Come Again" respectively).
