Rascal Flatts Preview New Songs From Upcoming Album
. "It's been a lot of years," Joe Don Rooney told Radio.com. "To try to grow from the success you've had is really hard to do in any business. I feel like we're going in the right direction. 'Rewind' is a good taste of where it's headed." He's talking about the title track to the album and current single, which the band stumbled upon and fell in love with. "The chorus was so catchy and hooky," Jay DeMarcus said. "Especially the middle of it, 'So you can let it fall one more time.' I took it and played it for the guys and they felt the same way. We went in and cut it and I think it turned out better than we expected. It's a great song and we're proud of it." Two additional tracks that the band is certain will make the final cut are "Memphis" and "Payback." "'Memphis' we're over the moon about," DeMarcus said. "[It's] by the same guy [Marcus Hummon] who wrote "[Bless the] Broken Road. We've had a long-term relationship with him for years. We're really excited about it. It's a big over-the-top ballad. It's less commercial than other things that are on the record but it's one of those moments that we just knew we had to cut that song and be part of it because it's so special." More.
